🚀 Quick Answer
The best Rin Tohsaka HSR build uses 4-Piece Genius of Brilliant Stars, Flickering Stars, a CRIT Rate body, and either SPD boots for an Archer support-DPS build or ATK% boots for main DPS. Pair her with Archer, an SP-aware amplifier such as Sparkle, and a Skill Point-positive sustain. Build toward 90–100% in-combat CRIT Rate before adding more CRIT DMG.
Rin Tohsaka is a 5-star Quantum character on the Path of Erudition. Her real value is not simply “another AoE DPS.” Whenever an ally consumes or recovers Skill Points, Rin gains 1 Gem Energy for each Skill Point spent or restored, and that same ally gains 70% CRIT DMG for 2 turns at Talent Lv. 10. She also unlocks a powerful Joint Follow-Up ATK with Archer that restores four Skill Points.
That creates two distinct builds. The recommended E0 setup treats Rin as Archer’s fast support DPS. A main-DPS Rin setup is possible, but it asks for tighter resource planning and gains much more from vertical investment. This guide separates those roles so you do not copy a hypercarry stat sheet onto an Archer team—or sacrifice Rin’s damage by building her like a pure support.
Version note: Rin debuted during Version 4.4. Version 4.5 is now live, but her Fate[UBW] Collaboration Warp remains available long-term according to the official notice. The recommendations below use her final live release kit, not early beta values.
⚙️ Rin Tohsaka Build Overview
| Build Slot | Archer Support-DPS Build | Rin Main-DPS Build |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Fast sub-DPS, Archer amplifier, SP engine | Quantum Skill burst carry |
| Best Relic | 4-Pc Genius of Brilliant Stars | 4-Pc Genius of Brilliant Stars or Scholar Lost in Erudition |
| Best Planar | Penacony, Lushaka, or City of Converging Stars | Rutilant Arena or Tengoku@Livestream |
| Best Light Cone | Flickering Stars | Flickering Stars |
| F2P Light Cone | Eternal Calculus S5 | Eternal Calculus S5 |
| Body | CRIT Rate | CRIT Rate |
| Boots | SPD | ATK% unless the rotation needs SPD |
| Sphere | Quantum DMG% > ATK% | Quantum DMG% > ATK% |
| Rope | ERR generally preferred; ATK% if the tested rotation still reaches Ultimate on schedule | ATK% generally preferred; ERR only when it produces a verified extra Ultimate |
| Substats | Required SPD > CRIT Rate to target > CRIT DMG > ATK% | CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > ATK% > useful SPD |
| Trace Priority | Talent > Ultimate > Skill > Basic | Talent = Skill > Ultimate > Basic |
| Best Core | Archer + Rin | Rin + Cerydra or Sparkle |
Best use case: Build the Archer version first. Rin’s E0 kit is specialized around Archer in practice: her shared combat buffs, Joint Follow-Up ATK, and four-SP refund become dramatically more valuable when he is present. Main-DPS Rin is a favorite-oriented or vertically invested route, not the default recommendation for every account.

💎 Rin Tohsaka’s Role, Kit and Gem Energy Explained
Rin is best described as an Archer-focused support DPS. She contributes real damage, but the engine around that damage is what makes her valuable: Skill Points moving in either direction generate Gem Energy, and Gem Energy powers her Enhanced Skill. The same SP interactions also buff the CRIT DMG of the ally consuming or recovering those points.
🔁 Core Mechanics
| Mechanic | What It Does | Practical Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Gem Energy | Starts at 20; Rin gains 1 whenever an ally consumes or recovers 1 SP. | SP-positive and SP-hungry actions both advance her next burst. |
| Enhanced Skill | Unlocks at 15+ Gem Energy or 7+ current SP; deals an AoE hit followed by up to 33 additional random-target hits that each spend 3 Gem Energy. | More stored Gem Energy increases the burst up to 99 Gem Energy consumed and 33 additional hits. Gem beyond that cap does not enlarge the same cast. |
| SP Conversion | When the Enhanced Skill begins above 2 SP, it spends down to 2. Its Skill effect immediately grants 2 Gem Energy per SP consumed, while Gem Magecraft separately grants 1 more, for 3 Gem Energy total per excess SP. | It can accelerate the burst, but it can also starve the next character if the order is wrong. |
| Ultimate | Costs 160 Energy, restores 1 SP, gives Rin 12 Gem Energy directly through A6, and makes enemies take 20% more damage for 3 turns. If the SP recovery actually restores a point, her Talent adds 1 more Gem Energy. | Use it before the team’s important damage window, not after the burst has already happened. |
| Elegant Conduct | Raises the team’s maximum SP by 2; at battle entry Rin gains 150% ATK and 15% Quantum RES PEN. | The larger SP ceiling and combat-only buffs explain why the stat screen understates her real output. |
| Ladylike Poise | Grants 20% SPD for 3 turns when combat starts or after an Enhanced Skill. | Speed targets must be judged in combat and within the actual rotation. |
Important: Early beta pages may still show different values for Elegant Conduct or Flickering Stars. Use the live release values above: 15% Quantum RES PEN on the trace, and at S1 the signature grants 18% CRIT Rate plus its conditional 20% team DEF Ignore and 72% Skill DMG bonus.
🏹 Why Archer Changes Her Value
With Archer in the party, Rin shares the large ATK and Quantum RES PEN bonuses from Elegant Conduct with him. More importantly, Archer’s Skill can trigger Freeform Tohsaka Style when the team is at 3 SP or fewer, or after 5 active Archer Skill uses during Circuit Connection. At Talent Lv. 10, Rin and Archer then perform a Joint Follow-Up ATK that deals 300% of Rin’s ATK plus 300% of Archer’s ATK to all enemies and restores 4 SP.
The Joint Follow-Up ATK can trigger only once until Rin ends her turn; ending Rin’s turn resets its availability. That is why SPD tuning matters: Rin wants to take a turn between Archer’s major assault sequences so the Joint Follow-Up ATK can become available again. In practice, a “faster Rin with slightly lower sheet damage” can outperform a slow build that misses an entire joint attack.
Practical rule: Rin is not a passive buffer. Her value comes from taking the correct turns, resetting the Joint Follow-Up ATK, creating an SP safety net, and choosing the right Enhanced Skill window.

🧩 Best Relics and Planar Ornaments for Rin Tohsaka
Rin’s best set changes less than her role suggests. Genius of Brilliant Stars is the safest general recommendation and the clearest best-in-slot choice against Quantum-weak enemies. Against non-Quantum-weak targets, Scholar Lost in Erudition can be nearly tied, so substats should decide. Use the HSR Relic Optimizer guide when the set bonus and real substats point in different directions.
🏆 Cavern Relic Rankings
| Rank | Relic Set | Best For | Why It Works | Important Limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Genius of Brilliant Stars (4-Pc) | Both builds | Quantum DMG plus valuable DEF Ignore; scales well with the signature and other DEF tools. | Its full advantage is matchup dependent, especially against non-Quantum-weak targets. |
| 2 | Scholar Lost in Erudition (4-Pc) | Main DPS / flexible farming | CRIT Rate and direct Skill/Ultimate bonuses make the build easier to balance. | Does not enhance the Archer Joint Follow-Up ATK. |
| 3 | The Ashblazing Grand Duke (4-Pc) | Archer Joint Follow-Up focus | The multi-hit joint attack can build the set’s ATK effect quickly and improves that attack’s damage. | Less complete for Rin’s Enhanced Skill than the top two choices. |
| 4 | 2-Pc Quantum / CRIT / ATK mixes | Transitional build | Lets you keep superior CRIT Rate, SPD, and CRIT DMG pieces while farming. | Lower ceiling, but often the best early account decision. |
| Specialist | Divine-Querying Master Smith (4-Pc) | Archer team support | Can improve overall team output in a dedicated setup. | Only consider it when Rin uses Life Should Be Cast to Flames; otherwise the interaction does not work as intended. |
🌌 Planar Ornament Rankings
| Planar Set | Recommended Role | Reason to Use It | When to Skip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Penacony, Land of the Dreams | Archer support DPS | 5% ERR for Rin and 10% Quantum DMG for Archer. | Do not use it to support a non-Quantum main carry. |
| Lushaka, the Sunken Seas | Archer support DPS | 5% ERR and 12% ATK for the first-position Archer when Rin is placed elsewhere. | Wrong formation order removes the ATK benefit. |
| City of Converging Stars | Joint Follow-Up sub-DPS | The joint attack activates its ATK bonus; a defeated enemy adds a permanent team CRIT DMG buff for that battle. | Less consistent in a single-boss fight with no add to defeat. |
| Rutilant Arena | Main DPS | 8% CRIT Rate and 20% Basic ATK and Skill DMG after reaching 70% CRIT Rate. | Its 8% CRIT Rate always matters, while its 20% damage bonus applies to Rin’s Basic ATK and Skill—including Enhanced Skill—but not her Ultimate or Joint Follow-Up ATK. |
| Tengoku@Livestream | Main DPS burst | Large CRIT DMG reward after consuming at least 3 SP in one turn. | Its uptime depends on a planned SP-spending window. |
Farming rule: Lock a good CRIT Rate body, usable SPD or ATK boots, and a strong Quantum sphere before chasing a perfect four-piece set. In my experience, forcing a set bonus with three weak substat rolls costs more real damage than the bonus returns.

💡 Best Light Cones for Rin Tohsaka
Flickering Stars is Rin’s best overall Light Cone because it solves her hardest offensive stat and naturally fits the duo’s high-SP turns. At S1, it grants 18% CRIT Rate. When any ally consumes at least 4 Skill Points during one turn, the wearer gains Radiant Crown for 3 turns; while active, all allies’ damage ignores 20% of the target’s DEF and the wearer’s Skill DMG increases by 72%. Effects of the same type cannot stack. It is excellent, but E0 Rin does not stop functioning without it.
| Tier | Light Cone | Best Use | Why It Fits | Access |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | Flickering Stars (S1) | Best overall | 18% CRIT Rate; after the SP condition, Radiant Crown grants 20% team DEF Ignore and 72% Skill DMG to the wearer for 3 turns. Same-type effects cannot stack. | Fate collaboration Light Cone Warp |
| A+ | Into the Unreachable Veil (S1) | Personal damage | CRIT Rate plus a strong post-Ultimate Skill/Ultimate damage window; its SP refund can work with Rin’s 160-Energy Ultimate. | Limited 5-star |
| A / Specialist | Life Should Be Cast to Flames (S1) | Archer team support | Regenerates 10 Energy at the start of Rin’s turns, applies 12% DEF reduction to enemies she attacks, and enables Divine-Querying Master Smith. Rin cannot activate its 60% personal DMG bonus because she does not implant Weakness. | Limited 5-star |
| A- | Eternal Calculus (S5) | Best fully F2P option | ATK scales with enemies hit, and the multi-target condition can add useful SPD. | Herta’s Store |
| A- | Today Is Another Peaceful Day (S5) | Stable personal damage | Rin’s high maximum Energy converts into a permanent all-damage bonus. | Nameless Glory |
| B | Geniuses’ Repose (S5) | Multi-wave content | ATK improves Rin’s damage; CRIT DMG becomes strong after she defeats an enemy. | Gacha 4-star |
| B | The Day The Cosmos Fell (S5) | Matching-weakness stages | Accessible ATK and conditional CRIT DMG when multiple enemies share Quantum Weakness. | Forgotten Hall Store |
| B | The Seriousness of Breakfast (S5) | Early F2P transition | Reliable DMG bonus with ATK stacks after defeats. | Forgotten Hall / missions |
| Tech | Make the World Clamor (S5) | Short-fight support Rin | Starting Energy can accelerate the first Ultimate and its vulnerability window. | Gacha 4-star |
S1 versus S5 rule: Do not rank by star count alone. A high-superimposition accessible cone may beat a poorly matched S1 option. The Light Cone superimposition guide explains when extra copies change the comparison.

📊 Best Main Stats, Substats and Endgame Targets
Rin gains a large amount of CRIT DMG from her talent interactions and minor traces, but she has no equivalent built-in CRIT Rate engine. A CRIT Rate body is therefore the default. The correct boots and rope depend on whether Rin is resetting Archer’s joint attack or concentrating on her own Enhanced Skill.
| Slot | Archer Support-DPS | Main DPS | Decision Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Body | CRIT Rate | CRIT Rate | Use CRIT DMG only if you can still reach the in-combat CRIT Rate target. |
| Boots | SPD | ATK% | Use SPD on main DPS only when a tested rotation requires it. |
| Planar Sphere | Quantum DMG% > ATK% | Quantum DMG% > ATK% | Strong substats can reverse a close comparison. |
| Link Rope | ERR generally preferred | ATK% generally preferred | Use the alternative only when testing proves it improves the actual rotation. |
🎯 Substat Priority
- SPD until the tested turn-order target for Archer support DPS
- CRIT Rate until roughly 90–100% in combat
- CRIT DMG
- ATK%
- Flat ATK and defensive stats only after the offensive priorities
| Endgame Stat | Archer Support-DPS Target | Main-DPS Target | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| ATK | 2,500+; 3,000+ with strong gear | 2,800+ outside combat | Rin’s battle-entry ATK buff makes out-of-combat sheet ATK look modest. |
| SPD | 135–160, tuned to Archer | Base SPD is often preferred | Her 20% SPD buff is active at combat entry and after Enhanced Skill. |
| CRIT Rate | 90–100% in combat | 90–100% in combat | Consistency matters because her burst contains many hits. |
| CRIT DMG | 120%+ before combat | 150%+ is a strong long-term goal | Do not trade reliable CRIT Rate for a prettier CRIT DMG number. |
| ERR | 119.44–124.44% when using an ERR setup | 100% by default; use an ERR rope only when testing shows it adds an Ultimate | The exact requirement changes with Energy sources and fight length. |
Speed warning: 160 SPD is not a universal command. The purpose is to let Rin act between Archer assault sequences and reset the joint attack. Start at 135 SPD, test the action order, then add SPD only when it creates an extra meaningful turn. See the full HSR Speed breakpoints guide for the underlying turn thresholds.

🤝 Best Rin Tohsaka Teams in HSR 4.4
The safest way to build around Rin is to lock Archer + Rin, then add one amplifier and one sustain that do not collapse the Skill Point economy. If you need Archer’s relics, Light Cones, and mechanics alongside this page, use the full Archer build guide.
🏹 Premium Archer Team
| Slot | Character | Job | Substitutes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main DPS | Archer | SP-intensive single-target and burst damage; triggers the joint attack. | None for the unique Rin pairing |
| Support DPS | Rin Tohsaka | Shared buffs, Gem Energy damage, AoE joint attack, and SP recovery. | Core slot |
| Amplifier | Sparkle | SP generation, action advance, and offensive buffs for the duo. | Robin, Tribbie, Mortenax Blade |
| Sustain | Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae | SP-positive protection plus offensive support for Archer. | Huohuo, Gallagher, another SP-efficient sustain |
Why it works: Sparkle helps the team reach the SP movement Rin wants while smoothing Archer’s long Skill sequence. Permansor Terrae protects the team without demanding constant SP and contributes to Archer’s damage plan. From a planning perspective, this is a practical premium template because every slot helps either action order or the shared resource loop.
🆓 F2P-Friendly Archer Team
| Slot | Character | Why This Is Practical |
|---|---|---|
| Main DPS | Archer | The intended partner; free only for accounts that previously claimed him or select him through Fate Contract, which ends before Version 4.6 concludes. |
| Support DPS | Rin Tohsaka | E0 provides the core shared buffs and joint attack. |
| Debuffer | Pela | SP-positive DEF reduction that stacks well with other DEF effects. |
| Sustain | Gallagher | Generates Skill Points and keeps the rotation affordable. |
For F2P players, this budget team gives up premium action manipulation, so Speed tuning matters more. Pela and Gallagher should usually lean SP-positive; Rin then has room to take a Basic ATK when she needs to reset the joint attack without consuming the resources Archer needs.
💥 Rin Main-DPS Team
| Slot | Character | Purpose | Alternative |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main DPS | Rin Tohsaka | Stores Gem Energy, then converts the buff window into Enhanced Skill damage. | Core slot |
| Skill Enabler | Cerydra | Can duplicate Rin’s high-value Enhanced Skill in the dedicated setup. | Robin for broader team amplification |
| SP / Action Support | Sparkle | Raises SP comfort, advances Rin, and improves CRIT DMG output. | Tribbie or another teamwide amplifier |
| Sustain | Huohuo | Energy and ATK support help Rin reach her expensive Ultimate. | Any reliable SP-positive sustain |
Main-DPS warning: Rin can function without Archer, but E0 loses the unique Joint Follow-Up ATK and the most valuable target of her shared buffs. Build this route because you specifically want Rin as the carry—not because it is the cheapest way to improve a new account.

🎮 Rin Tohsaka Rotation and How to Play
Rin’s rotation is a resource schedule, not a fixed “Skill every turn” script. The important questions are: Is the Joint Follow-Up ATK ready? How many Skill Points will Archer need? How much Gem Energy has Rin stored? Is the Ultimate vulnerability active for the next burst?
🏹 Archer Team Rotation
- Use Rin’s Technique before combat when possible. Combined with her Talent’s starting resource, this opens the battle with 30 Gem Energy.
- Establish buffs and Skill Points. Let SP-positive supports and the sustain create room for Archer’s Skill chain.
- Give Rin a turn before Archer’s next assault. Use a Basic ATK if spending SP would damage the sequence. Rin ending her turn resets the availability of the Joint Follow-Up ATK.
- Begin Archer’s Skill chain. When the team falls to 3 SP or fewer—or Archer reaches the alternate trigger—the joint attack fires and refunds 4 SP.
- Use Rin’s Ultimate before the main damage window. It applies 20% increased damage taken for 3 turns, restores 1 SP, and supplies 12 Gem Energy directly through A6—plus 1 from Talent if the SP recovery actually restores a point.
- Spend the Enhanced Skill deliberately. Use it when Gem Energy is high and the post-cast SP total will not strand the next action. It drops to 2 only when cast above 2 SP; at 0–2 SP, the current total is unchanged.
- Repeat around Rin’s turns. The goal is one meaningful reset between Archer assault sequences, not maximum sheet SPD for its own sake.
Advanced SP trick: When the team has more than 2 SP, Rin’s Enhanced Skill can intentionally spend the excess and reduce the team to 2 immediately before Archer acts. If the joint attack is ready, Archer’s Skill then meets the low-SP condition and the pair can refund 4 SP. If the joint attack is not ready, the same play can ruin the rotation—check the trigger first.
💥 Main-DPS Rin Rotation
- Use support and sustain actions to consume or recover SP while building Gem Energy.
- Use Rin’s Basic ATK while buffs, Energy, and Gem Energy are incomplete.
- Activate amplifiers and use Rin’s Ultimate before the burst, not after it.
- Use the Enhanced Skill with a large Gem Energy bank inside the buff window.
- If Cerydra is present, align the copied Skill with the same vulnerability and offensive buffs.
- Return to resource generation instead of forcing a low-value Enhanced Skill immediately.
| Decision | Use Basic ATK | Use Enhanced Skill |
|---|---|---|
| Gem Energy | Low or still building | High enough to create a meaningful multi-hit burst |
| Skill Points | Archer/support needs them next | Dropping to 2 SP is safe or intentionally primes the joint attack |
| Buff Window | Key buffs or vulnerability are missing | Ultimate vulnerability and amplifiers are active |
| Wave State | Enemy is nearly dead or next wave is more important | Elite/boss or fresh wave can absorb the full sequence |

📈 Trace Priority and Best Rin Tohsaka Eidolons
🔧 Trace Priority
| Build | Skill Priority | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Archer Support DPS | Talent > Ultimate > Skill > Basic ATK | Talent drives the SP interaction and CRIT DMG support; Ultimate adds the team damage-taken debuff and resources. |
| Main DPS | Talent = Skill > Ultimate > Basic ATK | Enhanced Skill becomes a larger share of Rin’s personal output. |
| Major Traces | Elegant Conduct (A2) > Ladylike Poise (A4) > Inbound Prosperity (A6) | A2 defines the Archer pairing; A4 enables the rotation; A6 improves every Ultimate cycle. |
- ☐ Unlock all three major traces before judging the finished build.
- ☐ Level the Talent first to raise the ally CRIT DMG buff and Joint Follow-Up ATK damage; its 1 Gem Energy per SP rate is fixed at every level.
- ☐ Raise Ultimate and Skill according to the selected role.
- ☐ Take useful CRIT DMG, ATK, and Quantum DMG minor traces.
- ☐ Leave Basic ATK for last; level it later because support Rin still uses Basics frequently.
For a material-by-material upgrade checklist, the HSR Ascension Planner is more useful than farming every node before you know which team you will play.
🌟 Eidolon Value and Stopping Points
| Investment | What Changes | Who Should Consider It | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| E0 | Full Archer buffs, Joint Follow-Up ATK, Gem Energy engine, and SP recovery are already active. | Players building an Archer team, including F2P players who already use Archer. | Best-value stopping point |
| E1 — Zelretch’s Apprentice | When an Enhanced Skill consumes at least 30 Gem Energy, Rin records that amount as Shadow Gem. While holding it, her next Enhanced Skill consumes all Shadow Gem, does not trigger the excess-SP conversion, and does not consume current Gem Energy. | Main-DPS Rin players or favorites seeking more personal burst frequency. | Strong personal upgrade |
| E2 — Dimensional Traveler | Increases Rin’s Skill DMG by 30%; while Rin is present, all allies’ Skill DMG becomes 130% of its original value. | Dedicated Archer/Rin teams seeking the strongest early team upgrade. | Best early support Eidolon |
| E3 — Holy Grail War: Victory Memorial | Skill Lv. +2 and Basic ATK Lv. +1. | Players continuing beyond E2. | Level increase, not a stopping point |
| E4 — Red Devil: Triple Speed | Lets Rin receive a second stack of her Talent’s CRIT DMG buff. | High-investment personal-damage builds. | Luxury midpoint |
| E5 — Goddess of Venus’s Favor | Ultimate Lv. +2 and Talent Lv. +2. | Players continuing beyond E4. | Level increase, not a stopping point |
| E6 — Nailed It This Time! | Grants Rin 20% All-Type RES PEN. Each Ultimate additionally grants 24 Gem Energy and an extra turn; this stacks with A6’s 12 for 36 direct Gem Energy, plus 1 from Talent if the 1-SP recovery succeeds. | High-spend or favorite-focused main-DPS ceiling. | Powerful, not efficient |
Investment summary: E0S0 is a functional stopping point for the intended Archer role. E1 is the notable early main-DPS upgrade; E2 is the more meaningful early team upgrade. Do not treat E6 performance as the baseline for an E0 build guide.
⚠️ Common Rin Tohsaka Build and Rotation Mistakes
| Mistake | Why It Hurts | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Using Enhanced Skill as soon as it lights up | Fifteen Gem Energy is only an activation floor; a larger bank strengthens the burst up to the 99-Gem and 33-additional-hit cap. | Wait for a valuable target and complete buff window. |
| Draining SP before the wrong ally | When cast above 2 SP, Enhanced Skill spends down to 2; at 0–2 SP, it leaves the current total unchanged. Spending the excess can still interrupt a support or Archer sequence. | Check the next two actions and whether the joint refund is ready. |
| Building only CRIT DMG | Rin already gains substantial CRIT DMG but lacks built-in CRIT Rate. | Use a CRIT Rate body and target consistent in-combat CRITs. |
| Ignoring Rin–Archer turn order | If Rin does not act between assault windows, the joint attack may not reset. | Tune SPD against the actual Archer sequence. |
| Forcing one planar set in every team | Penacony, Lushaka, City of Converging Stars, and Rutilant solve different jobs. | Choose the planar after choosing Rin’s role and formation. |
| Copying beta values | Several early pages show old trace and signature Light Cone effects. | Use live in-game text and the dated sources at the end of this guide. |
| Pulling because “4.4 is ending” | Rin’s special collaboration warp has no scheduled end date. | Plan calmly and verify the official collaboration notice. |
The biggest practical mistake: optimizing Rin as an isolated damage dealer while ignoring the team’s Skill Point timeline. Her build is successful when the full four-character rotation works—not when her character screen has the highest CRIT value.
🎟️ Rin Tohsaka Character and Light Cone Banner History
Rin’s warp should not be described as a normal Version 4.4 phase banner. HoYoverse added her to the separate Fate[UBW] Collaboration Warp system, and her warp has been available long-term since July 24, 2026 at 12:00 server time, with no announced end date.
👤 Character Banner History

Collaboration pity rules: Rin, Gilgamesh, Saber, and Archer share one Fate[UBW] character guarantee counter. Their collaboration Light Cone warps share a separate Light Cone counter. Both are independent of ordinary Character Event Warp and Light Cone Event Warp pity. “Available long-term” also does not mean Rin was added to Stellar Warp.

🔮 Should You Pull Rin Tohsaka or Save?
Short verdict: Pull Rin if Archer is an active core and your account already has dependable sustain and support options. Usually save if you do not plan to use Archer, still lack those account fundamentals, or only feel pressured by the version number. The long-term Fate warp gives you time to test the team and make the decision later.
| Your Account Situation | Decision | Why | Sensible Stopping Point |
|---|---|---|---|
| You own and regularly play Archer | Strong pull | Rin is his dedicated partner, adds AoE coverage, shares major buffs, and restores 4 SP through the joint attack. | E0S0 |
| You own Archer and want the duo’s first practical premium upgrade | Pull Rin first, then consider S1 | Flickering Stars improves Rin’s CRIT balance and Skill damage while adding team DEF Ignore. | E0S1 |
| You own Archer but lack a strong sustain or general support | Conditional | Rin improves one team but does not solve survival or strengthen unrelated lineups. | E0S0, then fix fundamentals |
| You do not own or plan to use Archer | Usually save | E0 Rin loses her unique joint attack and has much lower account-wide value. | Skip unless favorite |
| You want main-DPS Rin and own Cerydra/Sparkle | Conditional pull | The route works, but it is narrower and more investment-hungry. | E1S1 is the practical main-DPS stopping point; E1 is the first major personal upgrade |
| You already own strong alternative Erudition Light Cones | Skip S1 if saving | Premium alternatives and S5 Eternal Calculus can cover the slot. | E0S0 |
| You are F2P and uncertain | Wait on Rin, but check Archer first | Rin’s warp has no scheduled end date, but the free Fate Contract selector ends before Version 4.6 concludes. | Claim Archer before the selector deadline, then reassess Rin |
| You are close to normal limited-banner pity | Do not count that pity | Ordinary Character Event Warp pity is separate from the Fate counter. | Check the collab counter first |
| You want a specific 4-star copy | Save | Rin’s warp has no featured 4-star rate-ups. | Wait for a real rate-up |
| Rin is a favorite or you collect Fate characters | Pull when comfortable | Collection value is valid, and the long-term banner removes immediate pressure. | E0 first |
If you are comparing overall Path value rather than building Archer specifically, the historical Version 4.4 Erudition rankings provide a wider launch-version roster comparison. This guide’s Rin recommendations were rechecked in Version 4.5.
F2P verdict: E0S0 is the recommended stopping point for most free-to-play Archer accounts. Rin’s defining buffs, Joint Follow-Up ATK, and four-SP recovery are already in the base kit. Pull Flickering Stars only after the character and the rest of the team are secure.

🏁 Rin Tohsaka Endgame Performance
The table below assumes E0 Rin paired with Archer and level-appropriate traces and gear. It evaluates role fit, not guaranteed cycle counts or scores; enemy weaknesses, buffs, and seasonal mechanics can change the result.
| Mode | Role Fit at E0 with Archer | Why She Works | Main Concern |
|---|---|---|---|
| Memory of Chaos | Good boss-and-wave fit | Enhanced Skill bounce hits concentrate into fewer targets, while the joint attack fixes SP flow. | Turn-order mistakes can cost an entire joint attack. |
| Pure Fiction | Good AoE fit | Joint Follow-Up ATK hits the full wave and Rin’s Erudition profile transitions well between groups. | Random hits may overkill weak targets if the burst is poorly timed. |
| Apocalyptic Shadow | Matchup-dependent fit | Fewer targets concentrate her Enhanced Skill, and the duo contributes meaningful Toughness damage. | Weakness and boss mechanics still determine real value. |
| Sustainless / Speedrun | Niche high-ceiling fit | Teamwide damage amplification and extra joint damage scale well when survival is already solved. | Not representative of normal E0 account comfort. |
For Pure Fiction specifically, Rin is best judged as part of the Archer engine rather than as a generic wave clearer. Use the Pure Fiction scoring guide to determine whether the problem is damage, action frequency, side assignment, or blessing selection before spending more pulls.
Mode rule: Her target profile is unusually flexible: AoE comes from the joint attack and opening Enhanced Skill hit, while the repeated random hits naturally concentrate as enemies disappear. That does not make Rin universal—Archer and correct SP timing remain the foundation.

| Best F2P Stop | E0S0 |
| Best Early Main-DPS Eidolon | E1 |
| Best Early Team Eidolon | E2 |
Final verdict: Rin Tohsaka is an excellent pull for a well-supported Archer account and a conditional pull everywhere else. Build CRIT Rate first, tune her SPD around Archer rather than an arbitrary SPD target, save the Enhanced Skill for a real burst window, and stop at E0S0 unless the duo is a long-term priority. There is no need to rush Rin’s long-term warp, but players who still need the free Archer selector must act because Fate Contract ends before Version 4.6 concludes.
❓ Rin Tohsaka Build FAQ
🚀 What is the best Rin Tohsaka build in HSR 4.4?
The best general build is 4-Piece Genius of Brilliant Stars, Flickering Stars, a CRIT Rate body, Quantum DMG sphere, and an Archer team. Use SPD boots and generally an ERR rope for support DPS; use ATK% boots and generally an ATK% rope when Rin is the main carry. Change the rope only when a tested rotation proves the alternative is better.
🧩 What is Rin Tohsaka’s best relic set?
Genius of Brilliant Stars is her best overall set, especially against Quantum-weak enemies and in teams stacking DEF reduction or ignore. Scholar Lost in Erudition is a very strong main-DPS alternative and can be better when its pieces have superior CRIT substats.
💡 What is Rin Tohsaka’s best Light Cone?
Flickering Stars is her best Light Cone. At S1 it gives 18% CRIT Rate, and when any ally—including Rin—consumes a total of at least 4 SP during one turn, Radiant Crown grants 20% team DEF Ignore and 72% Skill DMG to Rin for 3 turns. Same-type effects cannot stack. Eternal Calculus S5 is the safest fully F2P replacement.
👢 Should Rin use SPD boots or ATK% boots?
Use SPD boots when Rin supports Archer and must act between his assault sequences to reset their joint attack. Use ATK% boots for main-DPS Rin unless a tested team rotation needs more Speed. Turn order matters more than hitting an arbitrary number.
🎯 Does Rin need a CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG body?
CRIT Rate is the default. Rin already receives substantial CRIT DMG from her kit and traces, but she has no comparable built-in CRIT Rate. Only use a CRIT DMG body if the rest of the build still reaches roughly 90–100% CRIT Rate in combat.
🏹 Can Rin Tohsaka work without Archer?
Yes, she can function as a main DPS with supports such as Cerydra and Sparkle, but her E0 account value drops substantially. Without Archer she loses the unique Joint Follow-Up ATK, four-SP refund, and the most important recipient of her shared combat buffs.
🤝 What is Rin Tohsaka’s best team?
Her best core is Archer + Rin. Sparkle is the cleanest premium amplifier because she supports the duo’s Skill Point and action-order needs. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae is an excellent sustain, while Huohuo, Gallagher, Robin, Tribbie, and other SP-efficient options can fill the remaining slots.
🆓 Is Rin Tohsaka F2P friendly?
She is F2P friendly if you already plan to use Archer. E0S0 includes the defining buffs and joint attack, and Eternal Calculus is an accessible Light Cone. She is less F2P efficient as a standalone main DPS because that route needs more specialized premium supports and benefits more from Eidolons.
🌟 Should I pull E1 or Flickering Stars S1 first?
For a general Archer team, S1 is the more straightforward premium upgrade because it improves Rin’s CRIT balance, Skill damage, and team DEF Ignore. For a dedicated main-DPS Rin, E1 is especially valuable because it enables another Enhanced Skill from stored Shadow Gem. Both are optional after E0.
No end date has been announced. The Gem Coursing in Red collaboration warp became available long-term on July 24, 2026 at 12:00 server time. It is still a limited Fate collaboration warp, not part of Stellar Warp. Check HoYoverse for future updates.
🏁 Is Rin Tohsaka good in Pure Fiction?
Yes, especially with Archer. Their Joint Follow-Up ATK hits every enemy and restores Skill Points, while Rin’s Enhanced Skill begins with an AoE hit. She also remains useful against fewer targets because the repeated random hits concentrate as the enemy count falls.
