Reviewed October 20, 2026. Build assumptions: E0 Castorice at Level 80, unlocked major Bonus Abilities, and fully leveled equipment. Limited Light Cones are discussed at S1 unless stated otherwise. Four-star options depend on the Superimposition you actually own.
A strong Castorice build in HSR starts with HP, controlled CRIT investment and the right low-SPD relic setup. Netherwing supplies much of her damage, so equipment that looks good on a conventional ATK carry can miss the point here. This guide explains the default setup, the exceptions worth checking, and where to stop farming before the next upgrade becomes too expensive.

1. ⚡ Quick Answer: Best Castorice Build
⚡ Quick Answer
The best starting Castorice build in HSR uses 4-piece Poet of Mourning Collapse, Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne and Make Farewells More Beautiful. Equip a CRIT DMG body and HP% boots, sphere and rope. Keep pre-battle SPD below 95 and balance CRIT Rate around your active set and teammate bonuses.
| Build part | Recommended starting point |
|---|---|
| Role | 5-star Quantum Remembrance DPS; HP scaling and Netherwing damage |
| Cavern relics | 4pc Poet of Mourning Collapse |
| Planar ornaments | 2pc Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne |
| Signature Light Cone | Make Farewells More Beautiful |
| Body / Boots | CRIT DMG / HP% |
| Sphere / Rope | HP% / HP%; compare a strong Quantum DMG sphere with your full team |
| SPD | Strictly below 95 on the pre-battle character sheet for Poet’s full bonus |
| CRIT Rate | Aim near 100% in combat after applicable bonuses; see the CRIT budget below |
| Accessible equipment route | Use owned alternatives and compare base HP; paid Battle Pass cones are a separate category |
If you only fix three things today, fix the HP main stats, verify Poet’s SPD bracket, and check whether your displayed CRIT Rate already includes your Light Cone. Those decisions usually tell you more than a generic relic score.
2. 🧩 Best Relics for Castorice
2.1 🐢 Why Poet of Mourning Collapse Is the Default
Poet of Mourning Collapse fits Castorice because it rewards a low pre-battle SPD build while supporting both her damage and Netherwing’s. The two-piece bonus grants 10% Quantum DMG. The four-piece effect reduces SPD by 8% and applies a CRIT Rate bonus according to the wearer’s SPD before entering battle.
| Pre-battle SPD with Poet equipped | CRIT Rate granted to wearer and memosprite | Build implication |
|---|---|---|
| Below 95 | 32% | Preferred bracket for the standard low-SPD build |
| 95 or higher, but below 110 | 20% | Usable, but needs 12 percentage points more CRIT Rate elsewhere |
| 110 or higher | No conditional CRIT Rate bonus | Reassess the equipment or the intended build |
⚠️ The 95-SPD boundary is strict
Exactly 95 SPD does not qualify for the 32% bracket. A rounded display can conceal decimals near the boundary, so leave a little room. Castorice’s in-combat SPD buff does not retroactively change this pre-battle check.
2.2 🛠️ What to Wear While Farming Poet
| Setup | When to use it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| 4pc Poet of Mourning Collapse | Default finished setup | Correct main stats, useful rolls and the intended SPD bracket |
| 2pc HP + 2pc CRIT Rate | Practical transition pieces already in your inventory | Recalculate CRIT Rate without Poet’s conditional bonus |
| 2pc HP + 2pc Quantum DMG | Temporary damage-oriented mix | Compare the complete build rather than matching set names alone |
| Mixed pieces with correct main stats | Early progression or a newly pulled Castorice | Replace gradually; avoid leveling ATK pieces just to complete a set |
Longevous Disciple supplies a usable two-piece HP bonus, while Scholar Lost in Erudition supplies two-piece CRIT Rate. These are transition options, not a claim that a random mixed set beats a properly built Poet set. Keep good pieces until the replacement actually improves your finished stats.
When a scoring tool favors SPD rolls you do not need, judge the piece against this build’s requirements. The relic scoring guide explains why the character’s role should determine which rolls count as useful.

3. 🌌 Best Planar Ornaments
3.1 🦴 Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne
Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne is the straightforward default. It increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%. At 5,000 or more Max HP, it also grants 28% CRIT DMG to the wearer and their own memosprite. Castorice naturally wants the HP that activates this condition.
💡 Practical rule
The 5,000-HP condition is a set activation threshold, not the point where Castorice is finished. The CRIT DMG bonus belongs to the wearer and their memosprite; equipping it does not give the entire team 28% CRIT DMG.
3.2 🔄 When to Compare Another Planar Set
| Planar option | Recommendation | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne | Start here for the standard HP build | Verify the Max HP condition |
| Arcadia of Woven Dreams | Compare if you already own excellent pieces | Its effect depends on the number of allied targets on the field; use the actual team state |
| The Wondrous BananAmusement Park | Temporary option rather than an automatic upgrade | Do not assume every wearer-only conditional buff is inherited by Netherwing |
| Correct-main-stat mixed ornaments | Early progression | A temporary HP sphere and rope are better than forcing unsuitable main stats |
For F2P players, it is reasonable to use a good existing pair while building levels and traces. Once those guaranteed upgrades are complete, targeted planar farming becomes easier to justify. The planar farming guide covers extraction and farming setup if you are starting that process from scratch.
4. 💡 Best Light Cones for Castorice
Choose a Light Cone by its HP contribution, useful passive effects and acquisition cost. The options below are practical categories, rather than a damage ranking tested at identical relic investment. A four-star cone at S1 is also a different purchase decision from the same cone at S5.
| Light Cone | Acquisition | Best use / limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Make Farewells More Beautiful | Limited signature | Best default: HP, conditional DEF ignore for Castorice and Netherwing, and an action-advance effect |
| To Evernight’s Stars | Limited 5-star | Strong owned alternative; its Energy restoration does not refill Newbud |
| The Flower Remembers | Paid Battle Pass selection | CRIT DMG option when your CRIT Rate is already settled |
| Sweat Now, Cry Less | Paid Battle Pass selection | Useful CRIT Rate and damage bonuses; check for CRIT overcap |
| The Story’s Next Page | Warp / gacha; use if already owned | HP-focused alternative; do not assume free access to S5 |
| Victory In a Blink | Non-limited Light Cone Manifest shop option | Accessible transition cone; do not count its team damage buff as reliably triggered here |
| Memory’s Curtain Never Falls | Herta Store | Conditional fallback: its SPD can move Poet into a weaker CRIT bracket |
4.1 🦋 Why Her Signature Fits So Well
Make Farewells More Beautiful at S1 provides 30% Max HP. Its conditional effect lets Castorice and her memosprite ignore 30% of enemy DEF, and the memosprite’s disappearance can advance the wearer’s action. These benefits address her own damage loop directly.
From a planning perspective, the signature is an equipment upgrade for an account that can already support Castorice. It does not replace an underbuilt healer, unfinished memosprite traces or a team that struggles to recover after HP consumption.
4.2 🎟️ Battle Pass and Owned Four-Star Options
The Flower Remembers gives the wearer 24% CRIT DMG at S1 and adds a separate 24% CRIT DMG bonus to their memosprite. Both values reach 40% at S5. Sweat Now, Cry Less gives 12% CRIT Rate at S1 and a 24% damage bonus for the wearer and memosprite while the memosprite is present. At S5, those values become 20% and 36%.
The Flower Remembers is the cleaner choice when CRIT Rate is already covered. Sweat Now, Cry Less can solve a CRIT shortage, but its displayed CRIT Rate is already part of your character-sheet total. Add only bonuses that are still missing from that total.
The Story’s Next Page provides 16% Max HP at S1, increasing to 32% at S5, plus an outgoing-healing effect after the memosprite attacks. It is an owned-inventory option, not a guaranteed shop purchase. Its HP value is useful without pretending that the cone supplies the signature’s DEF ignore.
If you are choosing a paid reward for several characters, compare the account-wide value in the Battle Pass Light Cone comparison before selecting an extra copy for Castorice.
4.3 🪙 F2P Caveats: SPD and Off-Path Stat Sticks
⚠️ Free acquisition and good fit are separate checks
Memory’s Curtain Never Falls adds SPD. With 95 base SPD, Poet’s −8% SPD and no SPD substats, the cone’s S1 +6% SPD produces 93.1 pre-battle SPD. At S5, its +12% SPD produces 98.8, dropping Poet’s bonus from 32% to 20%. Compare the full build before buying or superimposing it for Castorice.
Victory In a Blink is an accessible bridge, but its team damage effect is not something Castorice can reliably activate with Netherwing’s normal pattern. Spend shop currency with that limit in mind. Reminiscence can also fill an empty slot if you already own copies, though its low base HP makes it a temporary solution.
An already owned off-Path cone with high base HP can sometimes serve as a stat stick. Only its base stats apply: all off-Path passive effects are inactive, including passive HP bonuses. Do not pull a standard five-star cone just to use it this way.

5. 📊 Main Stats, Substats and Stat Targets
5.1 ⚙️ Best Main Stats by Slot
| Relic slot | Default main stat | When to compare another choice |
|---|---|---|
| Head | Flat HP | Fixed main stat; look for useful CRIT and HP% substats |
| Hands | Flat ATK | Fixed main stat; its substats still matter |
| Body | CRIT DMG | Compare HP% if team CRIT DMG buffs are substantial or the HP body has much better rolls |
| Feet | HP% | SPD boots are not the default for the low-SPD Poet build |
| Planar sphere | HP% | Compare Quantum DMG using the same team, Light Cone and target conditions |
| Link rope | HP% | Energy Regeneration Rate does not charge Newbud |
Substat priority: enough CRIT Rate for your final combat total, then a balance of CRIT DMG and HP%. Flat HP is useful as a secondary roll. ATK%, Effect Hit Rate and routine SPD stacking do not support this default build’s main damage plan.
There is no universal HP number where every Quantum DMG sphere becomes better than every HP sphere. Team HP buffs, damage bonuses, CRIT buffs and the pieces’ substats all affect that comparison. Keep both strong candidates until you compare complete builds.
5.2 🎯 Practical Endgame Targets
| Stat | Planning target | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| HP | Around 7,000–8,000+ on a developed pre-battle sheet | A farming reference, not a minimum needed to use her; Light Cone and investment change the result |
| CRIT Rate | Near 100% during the intended damage window | Include active set and teammate effects without double-counting |
| CRIT DMG | Around 200%+ is a useful long-term goal | Do not sacrifice the correct CRIT Rate budget or large amounts of HP to force this number |
| SPD | Below 95 pre-battle with full Poet bonus | A build condition, not a standard 134-SPD carry target |
| Max HP for Bone | At least 5,000 | This is an actual set activation condition, unlike the broader HP farming target |
5.3 🧮 How Much CRIT Rate Does Castorice Need?
Use this budget: required displayed CRIT Rate = 100% − Poet’s applicable CRIT Rate − active teammate CRIT Rate that is not already displayed. The character sheet already includes Castorice’s base CRIT, unlocked minor traces, equipped CRIT main stats and relevant Light Cone stats.
| Poet bonus | Additional teammate CRIT Rate | Displayed CRIT Rate for 100% in combat |
|---|---|---|
| 32% | None | 68% |
| 32% | 10% from E1 Remembrance Trailblazer while Mem’s Support is active | 58% |
| 20% | None | 80% |
| 20% | 10% from E1 Remembrance Trailblazer while Mem’s Support is active | 70% |
💡 Practical rule
The familiar 58% target has conditions: full Poet bonus, E1 Remembrance Trailblazer and active Mem’s Support. If that buff is absent during Netherwing’s attacks, the missing 10% is still missing. Recalculate the target when you change a teammate or Light Cone.
5.4 🐢 Why HP Boots Do Not Slow Netherwing
Castorice has 95 base SPD, which becomes 87.4 with Poet’s 8% reduction before other SPD sources. Her own SPD still affects her turns, but Netherwing does not inherit it. Netherwing has its own initial 165 SPD and receives 100% action advance when summoned.
That distinction lets you invest in HP boots without treating the dragon as a slower copy of Castorice. For this standard setup, check the pre-battle bracket first; use team action tools and her combat kit to manage the actual sequence.
For close HP-body or sphere comparisons, set the real team buffs, Superimposition and SPD condition in a relic optimizer before comparing the result. A calculation using the wrong team is not a useful tie-breaker.

6. 📈 Trace Priority and Guaranteed Upgrades
Netherwing’s abilities belong in the upgrade plan. Spending everything on Castorice’s normal Skill while leaving the memosprite abilities behind weakens the part of her kit this build is trying to support.
| Priority | Upgrade | Why it comes here |
|---|---|---|
| First | Unlock all major Bonus Abilities | Especially the healing-to-Newbud interaction from Contained Dark Tide |
| Highest damage priority | Memosprite Skill = Memosprite Talent | Directly develops Netherwing’s attacks and related payoff |
| Next | Ultimate = Talent | Improves the Territory’s RES reduction and the Talent’s damage bonus |
| Then | Skill | Useful for Castorice’s normal and enhanced damage sequence |
| Last | Basic ATK | Lower priority when playing the normal Skill-centered loop |
Get Castorice and her equipped Light Cone to Level 80, unlock her useful minor traces, and raise the important damage abilities before chasing tiny substat improvements. Level 8 can be a sensible temporary stop for her Skill, Ultimate and Talent before finishing Levels 9–10. Memosprite abilities use their own level caps and should be developed first.
The ascension planner helps turn those upgrades into a materials list so you can farm the next guaranteed improvement instead of guessing at your remaining costs.
7. 🔁 How to Play the HP and Netherwing Loop
7.1 🐉 A Practical Rotation Checklist
Castorice uses Newbud instead of ordinary Energy. Ally HP loss and her unlocked healing conversion help build that resource. When Netherwing is present, the HP flow supports the summon instead. The practical loop is to prepare buffs, move HP safely and spend the dragon’s window while those buffs matter.
- Prepare: make sure healing is available and apply relevant support buffs or enemy debuffs.
- Build Newbud: use Castorice’s Skill and let the team’s HP-loss and healing interactions do their work.
- Summon: use the Ultimate when Newbud is ready and the team can support the upcoming damage window.
- Attack together: use the enhanced Skill and Netherwing’s abilities while the intended buffs are active.
- Recover: stabilize the team and prepare the next resource cycle after Netherwing leaves.
⚠️ Keep the healing explanation precise
Healing contributes through Castorice’s unlocked kit, but conversion has limits. Unlimited overhealing does not create unlimited Newbud. Shields can provide protection, yet they do not replace recovery after team HP consumption.
7.2 🧪 Test a Complete Window, Not One Screenshot
Use the same stage and teammates when comparing equipment. Record whether the first summon arrives comfortably, whether key buffs survive through Netherwing’s attacks, and whether the healer keeps up. A larger single CRIT is not enough evidence if the new setup delays the next summon or makes the team unreliable.
If recovery is the bottleneck, tune the healer before spending more on Castorice’s offensive substats. The Hyacine build guide covers her own healing, SPD and Energy requirements for HP-based teams.

8. 👥 Team Examples That Support the Build
Choose the team first, then finalize the CRIT budget and compare equipment. These examples show the kinds of support Castorice uses; they are not a measured ranking of every current team.
| Team type | Four-character example | Equipment implication |
|---|---|---|
| Established premium core | Castorice / Evernight / Cyrene / Hyacine | Compare gear with the real HP and CRIT buffs from this specific roster |
| Flexible support core | Castorice / Tribbie / Remembrance Trailblazer / Hyacine | Account for Mem’s active CRIT support when choosing relics |
| Lower-cost owned-carry team | Castorice / Remembrance Trailblazer / Pela / Lynx | Develop the healer and core traces before chasing luxury substats |
For F2P players, the last row means a budget shell around a limited character you already own. Pela and other four-star replacements still depend on your roster; “budget” does not guarantee that every slot is permanently free.
For missing-character substitutions, healer alternatives and more detailed lineup decisions, use the dedicated Castorice team guide. Keep those roster choices consistent with the buffs you assume in the build.
9. 🌱 Farming Priority: Where to Spend Resources
My recommended upgrade order is simple: secure the guaranteed gains, make the set conditions work, then refine the numbers. An unfinished healer or low-level Light Cone can cost more than another week spent hunting a better sphere.
| Stage | Spend resources on | Move on when… |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Foundation | Character and Light Cone levels, major Bonus Abilities | The core HP and mechanics are available |
| 2. Damage abilities | Memosprite abilities, then the other important traces | The main damage window is properly developed |
| 3. Functional equipment | Correct main stats and a usable Poet set | The intended SPD bracket and workable CRIT budget are met |
| 4. Planar completion | Bone sphere and rope with useful main stats | Its HP condition is active and the pieces are leveled |
| 5. Refinement | Better HP and CRIT rolls; compare body and sphere options | Further farming has less value than another account upgrade |
✅ Before spending Fuel
Check the next guaranteed upgrade, the healer’s readiness and the weakest equipment slot. If all three point to different activities, pick the one that fixes the team’s actual failure first. Use a functioning build in battle before spending heavily on narrow substat gains.
You can fit this order into a daily budget with the Trailblaze Power spending guide, especially when traces and relic farming compete for the same resources.

10. 🗓️ Character and Light Cone Banner History
The tables below list verified historical runs. Dates use the Asia server / UTC+8 convention, so a maintenance-day launch can appear one calendar day earlier in American time zones. These records are not a claim that a Castorice banner is live today.

Current availability, any later historical run and the next rerun must be checked against the latest official Event Warp notice. Past intervals do not establish a future date. Confirm the server timer and featured pool before spending pulls.
For the wider release record, the character and Light Cone banner archive keeps the two event types separate.
11. 🎟️ Pull or Save: What Improves Your Account?
From a planning perspective, separate three decisions: obtaining Castorice, making her team work, and buying a premium upgrade for a team that already works. The best choice depends on the problem your account is trying to solve.
| Your situation | Pull or save? | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| You want an HP-based Quantum carry and have suitable healing and support | Consider Castorice when officially featured | The roster can support her HP and summon loop |
| You own Castorice, but healing or core traces are unfinished | Build the existing team first | Guaranteed upgrades address the immediate bottleneck |
| Your E0 team works and you want a focused equipment upgrade | Consider her signature within a fixed budget | It contributes directly to HP scaling and the Netherwing window |
| Your account still needs a dependable sustain or another team foundation | Usually save for the missing role | A luxury damage upgrade may leave the account’s main problem unsolved |
| You have a useful alternative Light Cone and limited Stellar Jade | Save unless the premium upgrade meets a clear goal | Owning a functional option reduces the urgency |
| The next rerun is only a rumor | Save and wait for the official notice | An unconfirmed schedule is not a spending plan |
Set a stop point before entering the banner screen. The pull planning guide can help you review the relevant pity record and budget before committing to a character or Light Cone.

12. ✅ Common Mistakes and Final Build Checklist
12.1 ⚠️ Fix These Before Farming More
- Building ATK as the damage stat: prioritize the HP scaling this kit actually uses.
- Copying a conventional SPD-boots carry: check the Poet bracket and the intended team plan.
- Treating 58% CRIT Rate as universal: verify the teammate, Eidolon and support uptime behind that target.
- Using an ERR rope to refill Newbud: Energy Regeneration Rate does not solve her resource cycle.
- Calling a paid or random-drop cone guaranteed F2P gear: acquisition affects the upgrade plan.
- Counting off-Path passives: only base stats remain active on an incompatible Path.
- Leaving Netherwing’s traces behind: upgrade the abilities carrying the damage window.
12.2 🏁 Ready-to-Play Checklist
🏁 Castorice build checklist
- ☐ Castorice and the equipped Light Cone are leveled appropriately for the content.
- ☐ Major Bonus Abilities and important memosprite abilities are unlocked and developed.
- ☐ Poet is equipped and pre-battle SPD is in the intended bracket.
- ☐ Body, boots, sphere and rope use appropriate main stats.
- ☐ CRIT Rate is budgeted with the actual team and active support effects.
- ☐ Bone’s Max HP condition is active.
- ☐ The healer sustains repeated HP consumption through a complete damage window.
- ☐ The next upgrade fixes an observed weakness rather than chasing a higher score.
13. ❓ Castorice Build FAQ
13.1 🧩 What is the best relic set for Castorice?
Poet of Mourning Collapse is the default four-piece set for this build. Its low pre-battle SPD condition grants CRIT Rate to Castorice and Netherwing. Aim strictly below 95 SPD for the full 32% bonus, then select pieces with appropriate HP and CRIT stats.
13.2 🦴 What are her best planar ornaments?
Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne is the straightforward starting point. It supplies HP and, at 5,000 Max HP or more, CRIT DMG for the wearer and their own memosprite. Compare alternatives only with their conditions and your actual team included.
13.3 📊 How much HP does Castorice need?
The clear equipment threshold is 5,000 Max HP for Bone’s conditional bonus. Around 7,000–8,000+ pre-battle HP is a useful reference for a developed build, but it is not an entry requirement or a universal optimal value. Keep HP, CRIT and team buffs in balance.
13.4 🎯 Does Castorice need 58% or 68% CRIT Rate?
With Poet’s full 32% bonus, 68% displayed CRIT reaches 100% before additional teammate effects. The 58% target assumes another active 10% from E1 Remembrance Trailblazer’s Mem’s Support. If your team or Poet bracket changes, recalculate instead of copying either number.
13.5 🐢 Should Castorice use SPD boots?
HP% boots are the default for the low-SPD Poet setup. Netherwing does not inherit Castorice’s SPD, so HP boots do not directly slow the dragon. A different action plan needs its own complete comparison; routine SPD stacking can weaken Poet’s CRIT bonus.
13.6 🌌 Is an HP sphere better than Quantum DMG?
Start with HP% and compare a strong Quantum DMG sphere using the full build. HP buffs, damage bonuses and substats change the outcome. There is no reliable universal HP cutoff that makes the same sphere choice correct for every team.
13.7 🪙 What is the best F2P Light Cone?
Check the inventory and acquisition category first. Victory In a Blink is an accessible shop bridge, while owned gacha options may be stronger. Memory’s Curtain Never Falls needs a SPD check. Paid Battle Pass cones are not F2P rewards, and no alternative should be assumed to have the signature’s effects.
13.8 🔋 Does Castorice need an Energy Regeneration rope?
No. She uses Newbud rather than ordinary Energy, so an ERR rope does not charge her Ultimate resource. An HP% rope supports her damage scaling, while the team should address Newbud generation through the HP-loss and healing interactions in her kit.
13.9 💎 Is her signature Light Cone required?
It is the best default equipment choice, but it is not a requirement to start using Castorice. Build levels, traces, healing and a functional alternative first. Consider the signature when a working team would benefit from that upgrade and it fits your pull budget.
